Description: A conical bowl with a ring base. The bowl was made from an artificial
soft paste often called faience or frit. The decoration consists of
triangular shaped registers, developing from the center and having
stylized and coniferous leaves in black and blue color under
transparent
colorless glaze. The bowl is dated between the end of the 14th
through the 15th century. Faience is a mixture of crushed quartz
with white clay and glass frit. It was invented at the beginning of
the 12th century, and it's considered a turning point in the
production of fine tableware within the Islamic culture.
