Come write the next chapter with us in the search for the Tomb of the Maccabees:
Together with volunteers, we set out in recent months on a remarkable archaeological adventure–an excavation at Horbat Ha-Gardi, near Modi‘in.
This, in order to determine if there is any basis to the legends and stories that connect this curious site to the Tombs of the Maccabees, who led the uprising against the Greeks and cleansed the Second Temple of impurity.
So far, part of the site has been excavated; however, further excavation is necessary to fully study the area in the hope of arriving at a solution to the mystery of the Tomb of the Maccabees.
