Description: Small rectangular amulet with a ledge-shaped "ear" at its upper edge, resembling the Roman-Byzantine tradition of the "Tabula Ansata". Lengthwise, on the amulet is an inscription of five lines, with Surah No.112 from the Quran that declaring the singularity of God. The inscription was engraved on the plaque and coloured in niello. The amulet is part of a jewellery hoard from Ceasarea which was concealed in a small jar. Based upon Paleographic considerations it is dated to the end of the 11th century- the beginning of the the 12th century.The "ear" shaped protrusion is repaired
