The unit is responsible for the conservation and preservation of the Scrolls, their curatorship, documentation and digitization.
The unit deals with the conservation and preservation of the Scrolls, is involved in conservation researches pertaining to the Scrolls, initiated and conducts the Dead Sea Scrolls Digitization Project:-The Leon Levy Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Library, is in charge of updating the Scrolls database, provides service to scholars, and curates and conserves the Dead Sea Scrolls for exhibitions and loans.
